The Gannon University Office of Career Exploration & Development (CED) partnered with the Dahlkemper School of Business (DSB) to offer Business Day 2019 on October 4th. DSB students were able to attend panels featuring area business leaders who spoke on a variety of specialized business topics.
Presenters for the Health Care Management Session included (left to right): Charles Judge, Manager of Health Sciences for Allegheny Health System; Carrie Ennis, Senior Director, Strategy and Partnership UPMC Hamot; Melissa Lyon, Director of the Erie County Department of Health; and, Dave DiGiacomo, Associate Director of the V.A. Medical Center of Erie. Moderator for the panel was Dr. George Couch, Assistant Professor of Health Care Management and Business; and panel facilitator was Dr. Michelle Zimmerman, Assistant Professor of Business.
The panel addressed issues such as the education, training, and experiences necessary to become a health care leader; the job outlook for their profession; along with the current and future challenges facing health care managers and executives.
