The infrastructure will include rain hardens, removing impervious surfaces, as well as capturing some of the rainwater to use at Gannon's new greenhouse site.
A $308,098 grant heading to Gannon University will help ensure both the university and surrounding areas have efficient stormwater infrastructure.
Jeanette Schnars, Ph.D., executive director of Gannon's Regional Science Consortium, spoke to YourErie about student involvement.
“We’re also going to be including students in different projects associated with these implementations and so they’ll not only learn more about it but help us design and be part of the solution as well,” she said.
