Dr. Katie King, assistant teaching professor in the DPT Program in Ruskin, was celebrated in the Sept 1, 2023 issue of "The Neuro Transmitter," the newsletter of the Florida PT Association Neurology Special Interest Group.

Dr. King has been practicing physical therapy for twelve years and also works part-time in an outpatient neurology clinic at Optimal Performance

Why did you go into neurologic physical therapy? What excites you?
I have a passion for helping people optimize their function along the journey of life, which can look different from time to time. I love to help people find joy in the journey and it excites me to help my patients reach their goals!

Any fun hobbies?
Hiking, running, traveling and exploring new places with my husband - and spending time with my dogs!

Do you have a specific sub-specialty that you are interested in within neurology? (For example: degenerative diseases, vestibular disorders, stroke, etc.)
I am a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist (MSCS), and also specialize in vestibular disorders.
