Gannon's Lisa Nogaj Accepted to PKAL STEM Leadership Institute
Gannon University chemistry professor Dr. Lisa Nogaj has been accepted as a participant in the PKAL STEM Leadership Institute to be held on July 13 to 16, 2021.
Her acceptance letter, in part, reads:
"We are both encouraged by your commitment to lead and honored to be able to offer you this unique leadership development opportunity. More than ever before, STEM higher education needs leaders who are culturally responsive, reflective, communicative, interpretive, affective, and perceptual – capable of making the kinds of moment by moment decisions that will not just maintain the status quo, but challenge it in meaningful and productive ways. Our commitment to empowering STEM leaders like you to embody these leadership ideals is what sets the PKAL STEM Leadership Institute apart from others and positions us as a co-laborer with you – to not only advance the reform of undergraduate STEM education but also demonstrate our humanity in the process."
This institute is by application only each year. Dean of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences Dr. Sarah Ewing participated in the institute in 2016.
