UNIVERSITY HOUSING REQUIREMENT
All first-year students who are transitioning from their country's U.S. equivalent of high school to Gannon, and any student within the first two years of post-secondary school immediately after high school, are required to live on campus through their first two years after completing their secondary education.
LIVING EXPENSES (OFF CAMPUS)
For students approved to live off campus, a $6,000 estimate for living expenses is calculated using the average cost of rentals, within walking distance of the campus, with two people sharing expenses. Additional costs for clothing, personal items or internet/cable TV connection are not calculated in this cost.
UNIVERSITY MEDICAL/HEALTH INSURANCE REQUIREMENT- MANDATORY
- All global students must enroll in a health-insurance program which provides coverage for injury and/or serious illness, repatriation, and medical evacuation at the appropriate minimum levels. Students must select from one of two insurance options available through Gannon. The estimated $880 on the cost sheet is for the alternative insurance plan that requires enrollment in coordination with the Office of Global Support. Proof of coverage must be shown prior to the waiver deadline to not incur the annual expense in University insurance. Insurance rates are subject to change. Students sponsored by a government that provides health insurance in the United States and students enrolled in health insurance through a United States employer are exempt from this policy.
- Athletes must purchase the regular GU health insurance estimated at $2,500 per year (check with your enrollment advisor for the exact cost). Athletes will be required to show more overall funding due to higher health insurance rates.
TOTAL TUITION WITH OTHER COSTS REQUIRED TO ISSUE THE SEVIS FORM I-20
International applicants seeking F or J visa status MUST submit specific documentation of funds available for study at the university. If you are sponsored by your government, organization or company, a recent, original letter from the sponsor is required.
BILLING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION
- Be prepared to pay your first semester costs in FULL upon arrival to Gannon University. It is recommended that you pay online through Flywire (see addition information in your acceptance packet) or at: https://www.flywire.com/school/Gannon. You may also pay with check or money order, in U.S. dollars only, payable to Gannon University. The Cashier’s office does not accept CASH payments over $1,000 USD.
- DO NOT delay the payment of your tuition! Pay by your arrival date or at the time of registration: YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE WILL BE CANCELLED FOR NON-PAYMENT and your immigration status in the United States will be at risk.
- Government or Agency sponsored student: take your Financial Guarantee to the Cashier’s Office; if your Financial Guarantee is not available at the time of registration, you will be required to make a tuition payment to prevent your class schedule from being deleted.
- If a tuition overpayment has been made via Flywire, you may leave the credit on your student account for a future semester, or the overpayment will be returned to you via your Flywire account only.
