Richard "Kuj" J. Kujawinski '73

Born and raised in Erie, Richard “Kuj” Kujawinski attended Cathedral Preparatory School before enrolling at Gannon University. During his time as a student, he was active in the Student Government Association, intramural sports, and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. In 1973, Mr. Kujawinski graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in business management.

Mr. Kujawinski began his professional career with First National Bank of Erie where he worked in the installment loan division. In 1980, he joined ADT Security Systems, was promoted to the role of Manager of Sales Training and Development and relocated from his hometown of Erie to Parsippany, New Jersey.

After 14 years with ADT, Mr. Kujawinski formed his own consulting company, The Pegasus Group. As President, he was responsible for enhancing clients’ sales and marketing campaigns and increased his client base to over 70 companies, consisting of both start-up and Fortune 500 organizations.

In 2011, Mr. Kujawinski accepted a position as a Senior Sales Executive in the Security Solutions Division of Siemens Building Technologies. He has since retired from the position and is currently a self-employed consultant.

A dedicated community member, Mr. Kujawinski is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Treasurer of the Madison Township Historical Society, and Commissioner of Historic Preservation in Old Bridge, NJ. He additionally serves on the board of directors for the Madison Township Historical Society and is a director on Gannon University’s National Alumni Board.

Mr. Kujawinski is a past corporate advisory board member of the National Crime Prevention Council, a silver member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, President of the Lake Erie Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Association, and an executive board member of the New Jersey & New York American Society of Industrial Security.

He currently resides in Matawan, New Jersey with his wife, Joanne, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Darla. His many interests include his love of Erie, PA and Gannon University, the New York Yankees, golf, and Broadway Theater.
