Michael J. Ambrosino received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 1966 from Gannon and, as a student, was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Continuing his education he attended Long Island University, Brooklyn campus, where he earned his Master of Business Administration in accounting in 1975.
Mr. Ambrosino has worked in the oil industry for over 40 years, holding jobs in operations, marketing, supply and distribution, brokering and trading. Originally the operations manager of Warren Equities – a privately owned retail oil company in New York City that marketed heating oil and gasoline – he joined PVM Oil Associates, Inc. as a refined products cash broker. Here, he learned the domestic and foreign brokerage sides of the oil business and established many valuable contacts throughout the industry.
Ten years later, Mr. Ambrosino founded Brooklyn Oil Associates, Inc., an oil cash brokerage firm dealing with refined products in Greenwich, Connecticut. In operation for 24 years, it is one of the more prominent firms in the industry, working with major oil companies, end users, and trading companies along the entire East Coast.
Outside of business, Mr. Ambrosino holds many titles, including veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, but his three proudest are husband, father, and grandfather. He is an active parishioner of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where he is a member of the parish council, former president of the men’s club and former member of the finance committee. He also enjoys long distance running, having run seven New York City marathons and is preparing for his eighth, playing and watching hockey, as well as coaching various youth soccer, baseball, and hockey teams in the Greenwich, Connecticut community.
In memory of his parents, he established the Margaret and Philip Ambrosino Scholarship Endowment at Gannon University. Additionally, the Ambrosino Philanthropy Foundation was created to assist many charities in their daily work.
Mr. Ambrosino has been married to his wife, Lynn, for 45 years. He has two sons, Michael and Philip, a daughter-in-law, Karin, and is a grandfather to Caleb Benjamin.
