As Director of Procurement for SRC, Inc., Laura Gloss leads a staff of 31 people. SRC, Inc. is a prime contractor for government agencies, mainly the Department of Defense. Some of the products they help procure include electronic warfare, radar and counter drone technologies. Gloss joined SRC, Inc. in December, 2019 and brings with her 25+ years of experiences in the supply chain industry.
Gloss has been a guest speaker at NASA supply chain conferences and will be supporting additional webinars and speaking engagements for both NASA and ASQ in 2020. She has recently published an article in the December, 2019 issue of “The Journal of Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Procurement.” As member of Leadership Buffalo, Gloss also holds certification of APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) and she holds an MBA from Canisius College.
Gloss was active at Gannon as a member of the Zeta Tau Sorority. Her greatest memories include both Homecoming festivities and Greek activities.
“Embrace diversity and servant leadership,” Gloss urges current students, which she knows will result in strong business skills. She recalls an assignment from her Philosophy of God class at Gannon. Tasked with arguing both sides of the existence of God, Gloss felt this was an unusual request at a Catholic college. She soon realized the assignment forced her to reflect on different opinions and theories, a lesson which has served her well in her leadership roles. One of Gloss’s favorite quotes is by Wim Wenders: “The more opinions you have, the less you see.”
Gloss resides in Buffalo, NY with her husband Ed and their dog, Jake.
