Brian Duke used Gannon as not only a way to prepare him for his future career, but as a way to expand his worldview. Becoming involved in the Student Investment Trust and Alpha Kappa Psi, he was given the opportunity to travel to the world’s financial centers and be exposed to possibilities available to him in the financial career field.
Today, Brian is a Certified Financial Accountant and holds the title of Assistant Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Erie Insurance Group. Here, he makes investment decisions on the firm’s portfolio worth about $2 billion. He credits Gannon with allowing him to form the relationships that would last him for the rest of his life and for broadening his horizons, opening his eyes to the entire realm of finances.
He advises others to take advantage of every opportunity provided and to work harder than your peers. That’s how you get ahead.
