Jason A. Chandler ’03

Jason Chandler credits Gannon with much of his success. With a degree in both Computer and Information Sciences, he entered a constantly changing, highly competitive field of work – especially in 2003. Finding a job in the television industry for two Virginia stations, Jason was able to avoid the typical computer science desk job. Instead, he is an Information Systems Manager and is responsible for “nearly every aspect of the Information Technology for WWBT and WUPV.”

In 2012, Jason was awarded NBC12’s “On The Spot” Award in both April and August for his dedication to the broadcast station. That same dedication was fostered at Gannon where Jason lettered his freshman year on the football team. An avid sports fan still, Jason – though his playing days are over – still follows the teams from his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has recently developed a love for mountain biking.

“Make sure to take a moment and reflect,” Jason advises. “Enjoy the ride! Those memories of college will help to get you through the next phases of your life!” Jason hopes that the next phase of his life includes the title of CIO, or at least continual employment with NBC12: Richmond, VA.
