Monica Trott graduated Cum Laude from Gannon University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She continued her education at Gannon and received her Masters of Business Administration in 1990.
During her time as a student she was a two sport athlete on the softball and volleyball teams. As the youngest of five children, Monica was appreciative of the scholarship support she received and the family atmosphere that Gannon provided. She knew that she was more than a number at Gannon.
Currently, she manages hundreds of properties around the globe as Director of Global Real Estate & Asset Management at Arconic Inc. (formerly Alcoa), based in Pittsburgh. Monica is responsible for all transactions related to owned or leased real estate including managing and preparing closed properties for sale. Her favorite place to visit for work is Australia. Monica said it’s a beautiful country full of friendly people, modern architecture and enchanting waterways.
Monica’s advice to current students is to focus on the intangibles. “Being on the Dean’s List is admirable but doesn’t guarantee you a job. The people I hire can hold a face to face or telephone conversation, maintain eye contact, are excited about continual learning, and know the importance of being a team player.”
Monica resides in Cranberry Township, PA and enjoys spending time with her husband, Lance. She has two sons; one who is beginning law school while the other has just completed his energy engineering degree and begun work for the Department of the Army. Her two stepchildren are both at Duquesne University. Monica is grateful for her Gannon experience and wishes future alumni success in their endeavors.
