    • The undeclared program assists students in identifying personal interests and career objectives that will help determine a major. A four-year career plan is offered to every student, along with career assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory.
    • Nationally, between 30 and 40 percent of incoming freshmen are unsure of a major when they enter college. It is also estimated that 50-60 percent of students change their majors, and many do so more than once.

    You Will Learn

The undeclared option allows students the ability to explore personal interests and major/career opportunities both one-on-one and in a group setting with an advisor. Undeclared students will initially be scheduled for a mix of liberal arts core classes and classes of interest, providing the time needed to explore possibilities and make an informed decision on a college major.

Undeclared students will be encouraged to declare a major by the end of freshman year.

Students interested in a major in the health sciences, education or engineering are advised to fully explore their eligibility for these majors prior to registering as an undeclared student.
