Gannon to Welcome Senator Toomey, Higher Ed Leaders for Roundtable Event
Posted: January 15, 2013Gannon University on Thursday, Jan. 17 will host a roundtable discussion with U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) and presidents and other top officials from the region’s colleges and universities and from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM).
In addition to Toomey, the event will include:

Dr. Andrew Novobilski, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Gannon University

Erika Ramalho, director of community and government relations at Gannon University

Dr. Thomas Gamble, president of Mercyhurst University

Monsignor David Rubino, Ph.D., vice president of external affairs at Mercyhurst University

Dr. Donald Birx, chancellor of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College

Dr. Terry Smith, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at Edinboro University

Dr. Silvia Ferretti, D.O., provost at LECOM

Dr. Brian Dalton, vice president of enrollment & communication at Allegheny College

Sheila Sterrett, NW Regional Director for Senator Toomey’s office

Matt Blackburn, Western Pennsylvania Director, Senator Toomey’s office
Senator Toomey will begin the event with welcoming remarks, and Dr. Taylor then will open the discussion. In addition, the representatives from each institution will discuss a topic of their choosing, such as future plans for academic programs, forthcoming initiatives, and legislation potentially impacting their institution.
The event also will include an open discussion.
