Gannon Celebrates Women’s History Month with Panel Discussion Saturday
Posted: March 28, 2014Gannon University will host an afternoon of affirmation,
encouragement and empowerment. This FREE events will be held on
Saturday, March 29 from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Yehl Room of the Waldron
Campus Center. Entitled "Inspire Action, Gannon Celebrates Women:
Community Activists and Leaders," the event is in celebration of
Women's History Month.
The keynote of the event will be a panel discussion featuring
four local women of accomplishment:

Kathy Dahlkemper - Erie County Executive
-
Sr. Annette Marshall - O.S.B, Executive director of the Inner
City Neighborhood Art House
-
Tiffany McCloud - Executive director of Superior Health Services
and president of the Erie chapter of the NAACP and
-
Maria Montero - Executive director of the Pennsylvania
Commission for Women and the
Governor's Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs.
Kathleen Kingston, Ph.D., Gannon University associate provost, will
moderate the discussion
Performances by the Erie Dance Theatre, actor Cheryl Jong and
Gannon English professor Berwyn Moore. Human services organizations
from around the region will be offering information on their
programs and services and refreshments will be provided.
Carolyn Baugh, Ph.D., assistant professor of history, director
of the women's studies program and an organizer of the event, said,
"We are honored to host such talented, accomplished women to share
their insights and experiences with the Gannon and Erie
communities. We can expect to hear not only about women's past
contributions but about some of the priorities we should emphasize
as we chart our way forward."
