Gannon University is hosting an on-campus scholarship contest on Saturday, January 31, 2015 with up to the top 10 participants earning full-tuition scholarships! In order to be eligible, students must apply to the University by January 12, 2015. Highly qualified academic students who apply by this date and are accepted to the University will receive an invitation to participate in this exciting on-campus scholarship opportunity. All students who are invited and choose to participate will automatically have their merit award increased by $1,500.
During the competition you must be prepared to present an original creation that shares what you hope to achieve in your personal/professional life after college graduation. Submissions may include, but are not limited to, a photo, a drawing, poem, collage, etc. In addition, you should be able to briefly explain how your submission demonstrates what you hope to achieve. Submissions will be judged on creativity, originality, relevance, presentation and explanation.
Following a short interview with our panel of judges, you will have the opportunity to tour campus and get answers to your questions about enrollment and financial aid. Your stay will conclude with our Scholarship Luncheon, where you and your parents will get to mix and mingle with Gannon faculty, staff and current students.
For questions about eligibility or other rules and guidelines, please contact the Office of Admissions at 800-GANNON-U; option 1 or locally at 814-871-5818.
Dress nice, but comfortable. Keep in mind that you will be presenting to and interviewing with a panel comprised of Gannon faculty, staff and administration.
Yes, absolutely. In addition to the actual competition itself, we have planned activities that will involve various Gannon faculty, students and staff that will share information about our academic and student life programs. Activities such as campus tours and the Scholarship Luncheon/Dinner for example.
We expect between 125 – 130 student participants.
Just be you. Your panel of judges wants to get to know you; therefore the answers to the questions can be found within yourself.
We will award up to ten full tuition scholarships. Each additional participate will receive an additional $1,500 financial aid award, just for participating.
We will notify all winners by phone on or before February 6, 2015.
