IRB Workshop Series for Spring 2020
The Gannon University IRB is happy to announce a series of professional development workshops for the Spring Semester, starting from January to April 2020. These workshops will be led by Joshua C. Nwokeji Ph.D., Chairperson of Gannon University IRB. Target audience for these workshops include all students, staff and faculty members that conduct or plan to conduct research involving human subjects. Also, members of the IRB Committee are encouraged to attend.
During these workshops, participants will:
· Apply the core ethical principles and guidelines for IRB to prepare a successful IRB application, shorten IRB approval time and avoid delays in obtaining IRB approval
· Use and understand the capabilities, scope as well as the limitations of the new IRB Software
· Differentiate between the three types of IRB application (Standard, Expedited and Exempted) and the guidelines for selecting the type of application
· Ask questions relating to IRB application and approval processes, as well as informed consent and IRB notification form
· Provide feedback on how the IRB processes and Software can be improved
