Battle of the Books
Fourteen local high schools and eleven middle schools from Erie,
Crawford, and Warren counties will be competing in the Battle of
the Books, an annual reading competition for which the students
prepare all year. Each team must be prepared to answer
questions on a list of books provided to them at the beginning of
the school year. Questions are prepared by Gannon's School of
Education students. Teams compete head-to-head and earn points for
each correct answer. At the end of the day, awards are given
to the top three teams at the high-school level and the top three
teams at the middle-school level.
Please contact Gannon School of Education interim director,
Janice Whiteman, at 814-871-7497 or whiteman002@gannon.edu for
information about hosting the event.
