When you look at
Robert McGee’s martial arts achievements, the results are pretty
spectacular. He’s trained in karate, kung fu, tai chi and, of course,
Taekwondo. In his martial arts career, he has earned 273 gold medals,
130 silver medals, and 88 bronze medals.
But his ATA journey didn’t start in any type of traditional way.
McGee didn’t even begin training in Taekwondo until the ripe young age of 65! Currently he is a 3rd Degree
Black Belt who trains under the outstanding leadership of Senior
Masters Michael and Kimberly Brown in Fayetteville, N.C. and he is now
72!
During this year’s Worlds he won six gold medals and one silver medal in the Tournament of Champions.
That’s not all.
He’s also been inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Through his many
accolades, it is clear that McGee is highly successful on the mat, but
his credentials in life reach way farther. He is a CPA and attorney who
has earned 23 academic degrees, including 13 doctorates from
universities in the United States and Europe. Additionally, he is an
Amazon best-selling novelist who has published 59 books.
As Grand Master G.K.
Lee has stepped into his new role, one of his true passions is embracing
the community of more mature martial artists.
“I
believe that maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a good diet and
exercise program is the key to living a long and prosperous life.
Taekwondo is very key to that for many individuals. It appears that Mr.
McGee is taking this idea and making his life the best it can be. I
congratulate him on all he has accomplished.”
ATA World Champion,
Robert McGee, continues to #MakeItPossible through his training. It is
an inspiration and motivation to us all.
