The English as a Second Language Program is designed to meet the needs of students who do not have an accepted English language score. Students can enroll in the ESL program after they have taken the language placement test. The students will be placed in a level according to their placement score. New students complete an extended cultural orientation in their first ESL session to help them adjust to their new environment and begin to understand the American culture.

The Gannon University Office of English Language and Global Training ESL Program is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation for the period of August 2019 through August 2024 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. CEA is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency for English language programs and institutions in the U.S. For further information about this accreditation, please contact CEA, 1001 N.
