Radiologic Sciences Program

  • Welcome!

Do you have an interest in helping others? Are you interested in working closely with patients and using advanced medical technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease? The Radiologic Sciences Program can help you achieve your goals. Diagnostic imaging plays a vital role in healthcare by providing an inside look into the body to assist in the diagnosis of disease and health related injuries. The radiologic technologist must have a solid professional foundation of knowledge and skills to effectively perform all imaging examinations. The driving philosophy of program faculty is “best practice” – the method that is most effective at delivering optimal diagnostic images. The program curriculum and faculty teaching methods promote the development of best practice enabling students to acquire the skills necessary to enter the healthcare profession with integrity and compassion. The blend of liberal arts and professional courses offered by the program will help you become a competent, caring, healthcare professional who is able to meet the needs of a diverse population.

The 24-month program is a blend of classroom, laboratory, and clinical education. A comprehensive knowledge base and mastery of clinical competencies are achieved through a progressive plan of study with a focus on increased proficiency along with the appropriate level of supervision. Upon completion of the program, students are awarded an Associate of Science degree in the Radiologic Sciences and are eligible to apply for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), national certification examination in Radiography. All graduates must pass the national examination to become registered practitioners in the radiology profession.
