Alcoholic beverages in any form will not be permitted in any part of university-owned facility or on the grounds contiguous to any building. Persons using facilities must confine themselves to the area(s) assigned for their use. Parking privileges on any campus lots are not included in this agreement. Persons using any facility shall not alter in any way or in any way deface the premises. If said premises or any portion of the leased facilities are damaged by the negligence of the user or any patron or guest admitted to the premises by the user, the user will pay to Gannon University, upon demand, such sum as shall be necessary to restore said premises to normal condition. When necessary, the user agrees to employ a representative of the university to be present to unlock and secure the facility when the event is finished. In the event that a technician is required for an event, a $10 per hour service charge will be applied. Metz & Associates control all food for events in the center. The safety of the persons attending and the facilities being used are the responsibility of the person(s) in charge of the event. Adequate users, police and fire protection must be provided at the expense of the user. The adequacy of such protection must be approved by the office for finance and administration. Ushers should be prepared to meet and report such emergencies as fire, smoke, illness of a patron, electric power, etc. Attendance at any event is limited to the fixed seating of the room or the established capacity in rooms where seats are not used. Smoking is prohibited at all times in campus facilities except in designated smoking areas. Please refer to Gannon’s smoking policy.
Exits must open readily and be accessible at all times. During the period of use, no required exit door may be blocked that the door cannot be opened readily. The use of candles as lights or for decorative purposes is prohibited, unless prior approval is granted through the office for finance and administration.
In selecting speakers, sponsoring organizations should be cognizant of the mission of the university. University premises may not be used for:
Violating or inciting the violation of local, state or federal law, violating the policies of the board of trustees, or violating university regulations; or direct commercial solicitation (except on the prior written approval of the vice president for finance and admissions; or raising funds for benefits of off-campus organizations or individuals. Authorization to use university space does not imply immunity from sanctions of the law or the university for failure to observe these limitations.
