Old Main, built in 1893 by Charles Hamot Strong, was purchased by Bishop John Mark Gannon in 1923 to establish Gannon College. It houses the President's office, as well as the offices of the Vice-President, Provosts, University Advancement, Alumni and Communications. Many University social functions are held in the luxurious common areas of Old Main.
