PATCHES Meeting Minutes

September 26, 2007

Breast Cancer Table

-3 Tuesdays to sit at a table in Waldron (1/2 hour time slots)

            -10-2-07 from 11 am -1 pm

            -10-16-07 from 11 am -1 pm                           Sign up at the Health Center!

            -10-23-07 from 11 am -1 pm

-We are planning to hand out pink ribbons the first day, have a beaded ribbon keychain craft the second, and have a bake sale the last day.

-Anyone who wants to donate pink cookies, cupcakes, etc. sign up at the Health Center.

Yoplait Yogurt Pink Lids

-Eileen Jolls from the Education Department is collecting these and will send them to the Susan G. Koman fund in mid-December.

-PATCHES members can collect these to raise money for the fund at their leisure and turn them in at the Health Center.

-There will also be a basket at our Breast Cancer Table so tell people to save start saving them!!

Dues

-Please turn these in at the Health Center or put them in Ashley Hoffman’s mailbox (#1654) by the end of Fall Break!!!!

- $4 for the year or $2 per semester

Homecoming Alcohol Free Tailgate Party

-Saturday October 20, 2007 at the Health Center

-We will be giving out free food and drinks!

-Sign up to help from 11 am to 1 pm (1/2 hour time slots) at the Health Center.

PATCHES Sweatpants

-We decided to order sweatpants this year instead of T-Shirts.

-We were thinking about having PATCHES written down one leg and have a logo near the hip.  We didn’t decide on a color yet!

-Anyone with any other design ideas can contact the Health Center or one of the Co-Presidents.

Golden Harvest

-Saturday October 27, 2007

- 2 Shifts

            -Morning 9-12 am

            -Afternoon 12-4 pm

-We can do one or both of these shifts depending on where people sign up.

-Sign up at the Health Center and look for updates in emails!

 

 

What is "P.A.T.C.H.E.S."?

Promoting Awareness Towards a Community of Healthy Educated Students

P.A.T.C.H.E.S is a Gannon Student Health Advisor Committee acting as a liaison between Gannon University Health Center and Gannon Students.

Members work as a team to address concerns regarding health issues that affect the entire campus - smoking, eating disorders, nutrition, fitness, wellness, and many other areas of interest.

P.A.T.C.H.E.S. sponsors speakers, workshops, health fairs, and other activities beneficial to our campus.

Who can join P.A.T.C.H.E.S.?

P.A.T.C.H.E.S. is open to all students with a participating interest in:

Wellness Programs

Health Advisement

Health Surveys

Networking with other Gannon departments and community agencies

Meetings are held monthly

Active participation credited on co-curricular transcripts

Requirements (1 hour of service per month to be an active member - and be included on transcript)
