LADY KNIGHTS DROP FINAL MATCHES
ON CALIFORNIA ROAD TRIP
 
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Gannon University women’s water polo team dropped its final two matches on its California road trip Friday afternoon, falling to University of Redlands 10-2 and California Baptist 9-2. Both games were held at Lancer Aquatic Center on the campus of California Baptist University.
   
In game one, Redlands put up two goals in the first quarter and never let go of the lead.
   
The Lady Kights posted one goal in the opening frame, but were held scoreless in the next 16 minutes.
   
The Bulldogs posted three goals in the second quarter and one in the third.
   
Gannon scored one more in the final quarter but let four goals reach the back of the net.
   
Annie Greenhill (Brea, Calif./Brea Olinda) and Kendra Plackemeier (Bonsall, Calif./Fallbrook) each scored for the Lady Knights
   
Goalkeeper Stephanie Komorek (Erie, Pa./McDowell) made seven saves for Gannon.
   
California Baptist kicked off Gannon’s second game with a 3-1 advantage after the first eight minutes. Gannon added one more to its tally in the second but allowed three goals.
   
The Lancers took the third quarter 2-0 and the final frame 1-0.
   
Greenhill and Plackemeier each posted goals.
   
Komorek made five saves.
   
The Lady Knights (2-8) return home to open up Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) conference play on Sunday, March 9. Gannon will host No. 12 University of Michigan at 12:45 p.m. and Slippery Rock at 5 p.m.
