ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon softball team continues a 12-game homestand Wednesday, April 9 against rival Mercyhurst at Gannon University Field. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Live gameday statistics will be available for both games. Statistics for the first game can be found at http://www.gannon.edu/sports/women/softball/lstats/xlive.htm. Game two can be found at http://www.gannon.edu/sports/women/softball/lstats2/xlive.htm.

Gannon leads the all-time series 62-34. The Lady Knights split a non-conference doubleheader against the Lakers March 26 at Gannon University Field. The squad posted a 7-0 victory over Mercyhurst behind Lauren Soldner’s (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Southview) no-hitter in the first game. The Lakers rebounded for a 6-5 victory in the nightcap.

Gannon brings a 20-14 overall record and 2-6 GLIAC slate into Wednesday’s rivalry games. The Lady Knights went 4-2 last week, earning conference splits with Ashland and Findlay.

Holli Michaels (Tacoma, Wash./Curtis) leads three Lady Knights hitting .300 or better. Michaels owns a .380 average with 19 runs and a .415 on-base percentage. Carol Kienzl (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and Kara Hensley (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) are hitting .373 and .347, respectively.

Mercyhurst has a 14-18 overall record and 1-7 GLIAC mark. The Lakers were swept last Sunday by Ashland and have dropped three consecutive games.

Jessica McNurlen (Washington, Pa./Trinity) leads the Mercyhurst attack with a .402 average, 19 runs, and 26 RBI. She has produced a .626 slugging percentage while hitting three home runs. Erin Ratajczak (West Springfield, Pa./Northwestern) is hitting .337 with 18 runs and 10 stolen bases
