GANNON LACROSSE ATTEMPTS TO
EXTEND HOME WINNING STREAK FRIDAY
     
ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women’s lacrosse team will attempt to extend its four-match home winning streak Friday, April 18 against Notre Dame (Ohio) at Gannon University Field. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. Live gameday statistics will be available at http://www.gannon.edu/sports/women/lacro/lstats/xlive.htm.

Gannon, ranked ninth in NCAA Division II with an 8-3 record, is perfect in four home matches this season. The squad has produced a 13.75 scoring margin during home victories against Queens (20-8), Niagara (16-6), Regis (20-8), and Indiana (Pa.) (23-2).
   
Kayla Nelson (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) leads Gannon in assists (44) and points (53). Colleen Dixon (Lafayette, N.Y./Lafayette) ranks second in scoring with 41 goals, eight assists, and 49 points. Taryn Millerd (Shortsville, N.Y./Midlakes) owns 35 goals, 13 assists, and 48 points. Mary Eshenour (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) is Gannon’s goal leader with 42.
   
Shauna Hutchinson (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) has been Gannon’s top goalkeeper, posting a 9.30 goals against average and .548 save percentage in eight starts.
   
Notre Dame (Ohio) rides a nine-match winning streak into Friday’s affair. The Falcons dropped their first three matches of the season, but have rebounded to post a 9-3 record through 12 matches. The squad is coming off a 19-1 victory at Waynesburg last Wednesday. It has already played once at Gannon University Field this season, posting an 11-10 victory over Regis (Colo.) on March 29.
   
Junior attacker Molly Merrill leads the Notre Dame offense with 29 goals, 17 assists, and 46 points. Sophomore midfielder Gena McPherson and freshman midfielder Ashley Rutz follow closely behind with 42 and 41 points, respectively. McPherson owns a team-best 37 goals
