GANNON WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM IN
FOURTH PLACE IN OWN INVITATIONAL
SLONAKER TIED FOR FIRST AFTER FIRST ROUND
ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon
women’s golf team sits in fourth place out of eight teams after the first
day of the Gannon Invitational hosted by the Downing Golf Course Sunday afternoon.
Allegheny College holds the top spot with a 305 on Sunday. Findlay (314),
Kutztown (318), Gannon (319), and Northwood (329) completed the top five.
Gannon’s Jess Slonaker (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) is tied for the individual
lead with Findlay’s Stephanie Gillette. Both golfers fired first-round scores
of 74, holding a one-stroke advantage over third-place Lisa Coleman of Allegheny.
Christa Cox (T4th, 77), Amanda Eckhart (T21st, 83), Whitney Burkett (T30th,
86), Allyssa Ferriell (T38th, 89), and Tarin Fedrizzi (T47th, 93) completed
Gannon’s six-member team.
Emily Quinn (T35th, 87), Brooke Pyle (T45th, 92), and Abby Welker (53rd,
100) also competed as individuals.
The Gannon Invitational concludes Monday, October 8 with the second and final
round at the Downing Golf Course.
