Bunstine returns to the court
after sitting out the entire 2006-07 season with an injury. The redshirt
sophomore wowed fans with her ball-handling skills and quickness during 20
starts as a true freshman in 2005-06. She will battle Tiffany Crocker, last
year’s starting point guard, for the top spot this season. Bunstine brings
great passion and desire to the point guard position.
2006-07 Season: Redshirted.
Freshman Season: Saw action in 26 games
as a true freshman, starting 20 ... scored her first career points during
the season-opener against Slippery Rock, ending the game with seven points
and four assists in 27 minutes ... ranked 13th among GLIAC players in assists
per game (3.27) ... named Avalon Classic MVP after scoring 36 points in two
tournament games ... added six rebounds, four assists, and three steals during
the classic ... shot 61 percent (11-18) from the field and 70 percent (7-10)
from three-point range during the Avalon Classic ... reached double digits
in scoring 10 times, including four of the last six games ... scored 16 points
off the bench during an 84-78 GLIAC quarterfinal victory at Hillsdale ...
shot 50 percent or better from the field 11 times, including seven of the
last eight contests ... scored a season-high 21 points in back-to-back victories
against West Virginia Wesleyan and NYIT ... averaged 11.5 points in 14 home
games.
High School: Played for Jeff Lisath and
Napoleon Cross at Chillicothe High School ... averaged 24.8 points, eight
assists, six steals, and seven rebounds as a senior ... scored over 1,100
career points ... set the school’s single-game scoring record with 40 points
against Marietta ... was a two-time All-Ohio Division I selection, landing
a spot on the third team as a junior and second team as a senior ... earned
All-Ohio Division I honorable-mention accolades as a sophomore ... named
to the All-District Division I and all-conference first teams in each of
her last three seasons ... earned Southeastern Ohio, District 14, and Chillicothe
Gazette Player of the Year accolades ... was a three-sport athlete, also
participating in tennis and cross country ... named to the all-conference
team in both and the all-district team in cross country ... was a member
of the National Honor Society ... attended Ohio University during her last
two years in the Advanced Academic Placement program.
