McKENDREE
FINISHES SEVENTH AT
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa –
Gannon wrestler Zack McKendree
(Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) concluded the NCAA Division II
National Wrestling Championshps, hostedy by Upper Iowa University, in
seventh place at the 149-pound weight class Saturday evening.
The two-time national qualifier defeated Mike Long of Augustana (S.D.)
College by 8-3 decision in the seventh-place bout. McKendree went 3-2
at nationals.
Gannon finished in 26th place among a field of 37 with eight team
points.
Nebraska-Kearny took first with 180.5 points, just five-tenths of a
point greater than Minnesota St. Mankato. Nebraska-Omaha (93.5),
Pitt-Johnstown (87.0), and Adams State College (68.5) rounded out the
top five.
