THREE GOLDEN KNIGHTS NAMED
TO CWPA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
ERIE,
Pa. - Three Golden Knights have been named to the 2007 Collegiate Water Polo
Association (CWPA) Men’s Water Polo All-Academic Team released Monday afternoon.
Andy Baker (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) and Paul Musille (Canton,
Ohio/Glen Oak) landed a spot on the “Outstanding” team, the top group
selected for student-athletes with grade-point averages between 3.71 and
4.0. John Krakowski (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) was selected to the
“Superior” team, reserved for student-athletes with GPAs between 3.4 and
3.71.
Baker owns a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. The Pre-Med major recorded
four goals and four assists this season. The sophomore also had nine steals
and seven earned kickouts.
Musille holds a 3.75 GPA while majoring in Biotechnology. The senior capped
his collegiate career with 44 goals and 19 assists. He posted 52 earned kickouts,
16 steals, and 23 sprint-offs.
Krakowski produced a 3.42 grade-point average during his first season at
Gannon. The accounting major had 12 goals and eight assists in 2007. He recorded
17 steals, 15 earned kickouts, and seven sprint-offs.
The CWPA named 101 student-athletes to three levels of academic achievement.
Twenty-four student-athletes earned “Outstanding” honors, while 40 received
“Superior” and 37 garnered “Excellent” accolades. The All-Academic recipients
averaged a 3.51 grade-point average.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete had to be an active participant
on the team, a full-time student at the institution, and achieved a 3.2 cumulative
GPA or better through the 2007 fall semester.
