GANNON'S MUSILLE BREAKS SECOND
SCHOOL RECORD AT NCAA DIVISION II
SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
COLUMBIA, Mo. - In an
extremely face-paced national championship, Gannon’s Paul Musille (Canton,
Ohio/Glen Oak) broke a second school record in as many days at the NCAA
Division II Swimming Championships at the Mizzou Aquatic Center in Columbia,
Missouri, but failed to advance to the finals for the second consecutive
day.
One day after setting a school record in the 50-yard freestyle (20.87), Musille
broke the school record in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing the prelim event
Thursday morning in 1:41.35. The senior finished 21st out of 41 swimmers.
The top 16 moved into tonight’s finals.
The Canton, Ohio native has more chance to advance to the national finals
Saturday, March 15 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Musille holds three individual school records and was part of four relay
teams that produced school records. The senior is the school’s record holder
in the 50-freestyle (20.87), the 100-freestyle (45.85), and the 200-freestyle
(1:41.35). He was also a member of relay teams that hold school records in
the 200-yard freestyle (1:23.88), the 400-yard freestyle (3:06.20), the 200-yard
medley (1:33.70), and the 400-yard medley (3:29.55).
