GANNON
MEN PERFECT AT IUP
TRI-MEET, WOMEN SPLIT DAY
INDIANA, Pa. - The Gannon
University swimming teams concluded Saturday’s tri-meet with the men
defeating host Indiana University of Pennsylvania 66-29 and Penn State
Altoona 88-7. The Lady Knights split the day, falling 56-39 to IUP and
defeating the Lions 91-3.
The Golden Knights (10-3) recorded seven first-place finishes and
produced two triple-winners.
Connor Wolf (Canton, Ohio/Central
Catholic) and Paul Musille
(Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak) joined Richie
DiLoreto (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Seth Hazlett (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area)
in a 1 minute, 38.31 seconds take of the 200-yard medley relay.
Wolf also won the 200 IM (2:02.73) and 200 breaststroke (2.17.78)
events, giving him a triple-win.
Musille produced his triple-win with first-place finishes in the 100
freestyle (48.75) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.67). Double-winners
DiLoreto, Hazlett, and John Krakowski
(Erie, Pa/Cathedral Prep) also participated on the relay team.
Krakowski finished the 50 freestyle in 22.59.
In women’s action, the Lady Knights (10-5) finished first in three
events.
Ellie Hess (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell)
recorded a double-win for Gannon. Hess finished the 100 freestyle in
55.04. The freshman joined Breanna
Pease (Erie, Pa./Iroquois), Sarah
Lawton (Franklin, Pa./Franklin), and Ashlee Calandra (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier)
in a 1:44.85 first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.
Gannon returns to action on Wednesday, February 13 at the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships. The
University of Indianapolis will host this year’s four-day-long event.
