GANNON
SWIMMERS CONCLUDE
GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The
Gannon University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams finished
the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)
Championships, hosted by the University of Indianapolis, with a pair of
sixth-place finishes.
Wayne State won the women’s competition with 800 points, defeating
Grand Valley State (339), Indianapolis (483), Ashland (402), Lewis
(356), Gannon (322.5), Hillsdale (251.5), Northern Michigan (179), and
Findlay (178).
Grand Valley State topped all men’s teams with 665 points. Wayne State
(634), Indianapolis (541), Lewis (465), Ashland (425), Gannon (350),
and Findlay (235) followed.
Sarah Lawton (Franklin, Pa./Franklin)
gave the Lady Knights their best finish of the day by placing fourth in
the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2 minutes, 13 seconds.
In men’s action, Richie DiLoreto
(Erie, Pa./McDowell), John
Krakowski (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep), Joseph Wagner (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch),
and Paul Musille (Canton, Ohio/Glen
Oak) took third in the 400 freestyle relay.
Musille also placed second in the 100 freestyle.
The Gannon men’s swimming team concludes the regular season with a 10-3
dual record. The Lady Knights are 10-5.
