MEN REMAIN SIXTH
AT GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The
Gannon University men’s swimming team concluded the third day at the
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, hosted
by the University of Indianapolis, in sixth place Friday evening.
Grand Valley State leads all men’s squads with 482 points. Wayne State
(432), Indianapolis (364), Ashland (312), and Lewis (307) have higher
standing than Gannon (264).
The Lady Knights slipped two spots to sixth place with 214.5 points.
Wayne State continues to lead the women’s competition (527). Grand
Valley State (458), Indianapolis (327), Ashland (271), and Lewis (242)
round out the top five.
The Golden Knights’ best showing came in Connor Wolf’s (Canton, Ohio/Central
Catholic) fourth place, 58.60 seconds finish in the 100-yard
breaststroke.
The Lady Knights’ 800 freestyle relay team of Ashlee Calandra (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier),
Brenna Pease (Erie, Pa./Iroquois),
Liz Clary (Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak),
and Ellie Hess (Lower Burrell,
Pa./Burrell) placed third in 7:56.49.
Competition concludes Saturday, February 16 with the 1000 freestyle,
200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 400
freestyle relay, and women’s 3-meter diving.
