GANNON SWIMMERS OPEN 2007 AT
WESTMINSTER (PA.) RELAYS

 
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Gannon University men’s and women’s swimming teams kicked off the 2007 season at the Westminster Relays Friday evening, hosted by Westminster (Pa.) College. The Gannon men’s team finished third out of five teams, while the Lady Knights finished second among six squads.
   
Juniors Connor Wolf (Canton, Ohio/Central Catholic) and Seth Hazlett (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area) were double-winners for the men’s team. Wolf, Hazlett, and Joseph Wagner (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) took the 300-yard butterfly relay with a time of 2:43.94. Wolf and Hazlett, along with Matt Krizmanic (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) and Mitchel Meighen (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), also won the 400-yard individual medley relay (3:53.56).
   
Carey Siwek (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), Rachel Rzymek (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Shannon Bonsmann (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary), and Sarah Lawton (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) took first with a time of 4:22.32 in the women’s 400-yard individual medley relay.
   
Gannon is scheduled to host Allegheny College in a duals meet on Saturday, November 3. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
