GANNON RELEASES 2008 WOMEN'S
AND MEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULES
ERIE, Pa.
- Gannon has released its women’s and men’s soccer schedules for the upcoming
inaugural season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The women’s program will play a 19-match schedule, including 14 contests
against PSAC West Division opponents. The squad will also play two cross-over
matches which don’t count in the league standings against Shippensburg and
Bloomsburg. A unique match-up at NCAA Division III Penn State Behrend is
also scheduled for Tuesday, August 26 as an exhibition.
The top four teams in both divisions will qualify for the eight-team PSAC
Women’s Soccer Tournament. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Tuesday, November
4. The semifinals are slated for Friday, November 7 with the championship
match to be played Sunday, November 9.

The men’s program will play a 17-match schedule that includes eight contests
against PSAC West Division opponents. The squad will also play three cross-over
matches which don’t count in the league standings against West Chester, Bloomsburg,
and East Stroudsburg.
Gannon, which won the 2007 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(GLIAC) Championship during its final year in the league, plays five of its
first seven matches at Gannon University Field and concludes the regular season
with five of seven on the road. The regular season concludes with home matches
against Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst.

Men’s Soccer Tournament. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, November
5 with the title contest slated for Saturday, November 8.
