DAY OF GREAT LAKES REGION QUALIFIER
SOUTH HAVEN, Mich.
- The Gannon men’s golf team resides in 24th place Sunday afternoon after
the first day of the Great Lakes Regional Qualifier hosted by HawkHead Golf
Course in South Haven, Mich.
Findlay leads the field with an opening-round best of 288. Indianapolis (290),
Grand Valley State (293), Saginaw Valley State (293), and Wayne State (293)
completed the top five. Gannon sits in 24th place with a 324.
Grand Valley State’s Tyler Hering and Findlay’s Kyle Nickson head into the
second round as the co-leaders with first-day scores of 70.
Drew Deimel (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) was Gannon’s top golfer, being
tied for 77th place with a 78. Pat Kloecker (T99th, 81), Bobby Scalise (T103rd,
82), Rob Hersch (T109th, 83), and Matt Barnes (T116th, 85) also competed
for the Golden Knights.
The Great Lakes Regional Qualifier concludes Monday, September 24 with the
second and final round.
