GANNON FINISHES EIGHTH AT
FINDLAY MEN'S GOLF INVITATIONAL
 
FINDLAY, Ohio - The Gannon men’s golf team moved up one spot during the final round and finished eighth out of 12 teams Saturday afternoon at the Findlay-Outback Steakhouse Invitational.

Wayne State captured the team trophy with a two-day score of 600. The Warriors entered the final round in second place after a 300 on Friday, but won the title with another 300 on Saturday. Ferris State (304-300-604), Findlay (299-310-609), and Northwood (307-303-610) completed the top four. Ashland (305-308-613) and Saginaw Valley State (315-298-613) tied for fifth place.

Gannon was tied for ninth after posting a 322 on Friday, but finished eighth after a 317 on Saturday. The Golden Knights had a two-day score of 639.

Pat Kloecker (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) and Drew Deimel (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) were Gannon’s top golfers, tying for 25th place with identical scores of 156. Kloecker produced rounds of 75 and 81 while Deimel posted scores of 81 and 75.

Rob Hersch (T61st, 85-79-164), Bobby Scalise (T65th, 82-83-165), and Matt Barnes (T70th, 84-82-166) completed Gannon’s five-member team.

Gannon has withdrawn from the Ashland Invitational scheduled for Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14. The Golden Knights return to action Thursday, April 24 at the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
