GANNON'S
MOSLEY NAMED TO
DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION SECOND TEAM
ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s Vince
Mosley (Boynton Beach, Fla./Dillard) has been named to the Daktronics
All-Great Lakes Region second team released Wednesday afternoon.
Collins Harris of Drury was named Great Lakes Region Player of the Year,
averaging 18 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He is joined on the first
team by Callistus Eziukwu (Grand Valley State), Jason Jamerson (Grand Valley
State), Jeff Fahnbulleh (Kentucky Wesleyan), and Norman Plummer (Southern
Indiana). All five first-team members will move to the national ballot for
all-america consideration.
The second team consisted of Mosley, Andre Muse (Quincy), Tony Gugino (Hillsdale),
Stephan Bolt (Lewis), and Josh Bostic (Findlay).
Mosley leads Gannon in scoring (17.1) while ranking second in field goal
percentage (56.6), rebounding (6.4), and assists (75). The senior forward
is shooting 56.6 percent (176-311) from the field, 44.1 percent (15-34) from
three-point range, and 68.9 percent (111-161) from the free throw line. He
has scored at least 11 points in 25 of 28 games he played in, including a
season-high 30 at Wayne State. His 11-of-12 showing at Tiffin on February
19 accounted for the 11th-highest single-game shooting percentage among NCAA
Division II players this season.
The Boynton Beach, Fla., native ranks fifth among GLIAC players in scoring,
sixth in field goal percentage, 10th in defensive rebounds per game (4.50),
12th in rebounding, 13th in offensive rebounds per game (1.93), and 15th
in assists per game (2.68). Mosley has scored 478 points in 28 games, needing
37 to break into Gannon’s all-time top-15 single-season scoring chart.
Gannon has been one of the best turnaround stories in all divisions of the
NCAA. The Golden Knights rebounded from a 9-17 record last season with a
25-4 mark and national ranking as high as seventh this season. The squad
won the GLIAC South Division with a 15-2 conference record and is one of
four teams in school history to win 25 games. Only the 1986-87 team that
played in the NCAA Division II title game won more contests with a 28-6 record.
Gannon will be making its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend and
first since 2005. The Golden Knights’ last tournament victory came in 1995
with an 82-81 victory over Bloomsburg at the Hammermill Center.
