GENERAL
REGULATIONS
1.) Posted regulations governing the use of various facility areas must be followed. It is the responsibility of the user to be aware of written and posted regulations.
2.) No dunking or hanging on the basketball rims.
3.) No food or drinks outside lobby area.
4.) No smoking or tobacco products allowed in the facility.
5.) No street shoes allowed in the activity areas.
6.) No black soled or marking shoes allowed on basketball courts or in the racquetball courts.
7.) All dependents under 16 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times.
8.) Equipment must be used properly and only in the appropriate areas.
9.) Shirts and shoes are required to enter the building.
10.) The university assumes no responsibility for injuries resulting from the use of the Recreation Center. All injuries should be reported immediately to the building supervisor and an accident report form completed.
SAUNA
A sauna is located in both the men's and women's locker rooms. All participants are responsible for the proper use of the sauna as posted on the outside wall. In addition no shampoo, conditioner or paper Products may be used in the sauna. It is a dry heat sauna so no water should be dumped on the hot coals.
HANDBALL/RACQUETBALL
REGULATIONS
1. General rules and regulations are in effect.
2. No black soled or marking shoes in the courts you are responsible to clean up any damages.
3. Any court not reserved will be open to players on a first come/first serve basis.
4. Always check in at the front desk.
5. Eye guard protection is mandatory when using courts.
6. Those wearing glasses are responsible for providing appropriate unbreakable eyewear.
RESERVATION PROCEDURES
1. The court may be reserved on the day you play by visiting or calling the front desk (871-7770) starting at 10:00 am.
2. Reservations can only be made for ONE COURT for ONE HOUR.
3. Only ONE reservation can be made for each call.
4. Individuals that have reserved a court must report to the front desk for a court assignment
within 15 minutes before and 10 minutes after the hour.
5. Periodically throughout the school year or at busy times, one or more courts will be designated as Challenge Courts.
CHALLENGE COURTS
Any court designated as a challenge court must follow these procedures:
1. If individuals are waiting, players in the court must call out the score after each point. Then the winner of the 21-point game may play the next challenger.
2. All winners are limited to 3 consecutive 21 point games.
3. If two or more challengers are waiting, players must play doubles or cutthroat.
POOL REGULATIONS
In addition to the General Regulations, the following rules specifically apply to the pool area.
1. The person in charge has the right to dismiss anyone if his or her behavior is deemed inappropriate.
2. Swimmers may be asked to demonstrate their swimming ability before entering the deep end.
3. Everyone must take a soap shower before entering the pool.
4. No running or horseplay in the pool or on the pool deck.
5. Bathing suits are required, no cutoffs.
6. No street shoes allowed in pool or on the pool deck.
7. No hanging or sitting on lane markers.
8. No swimming unless lifeguard is on duty.
9. No one with open soars or contagious diseases is allowed in the pool.
10. No diving in the shallow end of the pool. No flips or backward diving from the side of the pool.
11. The 3-meter diving board and starting blocks are for swim team use only.
12. Only one person is allowed on the diving board at one time.
13. No glass is permitted in the pool area.
14. No food or drink is allowed in the pool area.
15. Lap lanes are for lap swimming only.
16. At the lifeguard's discretion, three short whistles will sound to clear the pool. All swimmers are to immediately go to the side of the pool until the lifeguard allows swimming to resume.
FITNESS CENTER
Open regular recreation center hours, the fitness center is an area where exercise and weight training equipment is provided for general use. Playing of loud music will not be permitted.
