PHILOSOPHY

The Gannon University Carneval Athletic Pavilion was built to provide men and women students with one of the most comprehensive facilities of its kind.

The facility is designed to meet the needs of the University's general recreation, intramural, physical education, and intercollegiate programs with a special emphasis on "free-play."  Drop-in and free-play activities are available daily in every area, from the basketball court to the swimming pool to the fitness room.  Informal programs and varied activities range from Pilates to weight lifting and are offered throughout the year.

Students, faculty, and staff take part in friendly intramural sports year round.  Programs for men, women, and co-ed competition are organized on an individual basis with an opportunity to participate in numerous activities.

These programs, coupled with the intercollegiate program and Gannon's concern for the well-rounded physical development of each student, compliment the student's intellectual, moral, and spiritual development.  In its 22nd year, the CAP will enhance the University's ability to provide students with a balanced education.
