SGA Committees
Student Government Association committees are listed below.
Academic Affairs Committee
This committee shall work with the student members of the University Academic Affairs committee to review and analyze all issues presented before the University committee. Furthermore, this committee shall work with the Vice President of Academic Affairs to initiate and oversee all project devoted to maintaining or improving, where possible, the academic environment of the University.
Alumni Committee
This committee shall work with the office of Alumni Relations and the National Alumni Board to further the objectives of the Young Alumni Initiative and Strategic Plan of the NAB.
Budget and Finance Committee
This committee shall provide guidelines for the allocation, disbursement, and administration of the SGA funds. The committee shall also facilitate the maintenance and review of fiscal records and provide the Budget and Finance Committee with guidelines for conducting the fiscal activities of the SGA.
Clubs and Organizations Committee
This committee shall be responsible for developing and implementing a forum to create better communication between clubs and organizations and the Student Government Association.
Constitutional Revision Committee
This committee shall meet to discuss and proposal set forth by the students of the SGA to revise the Constitution and/or its by-laws and shall make recommendations to SGA.
Elections Committee
This committee shall be responsible for the preparation, organization, and implementation of SGA elections. All graduating seniors will have a seat on this committee.
EMTA Committee
This committee shall work for the success and good of the newly founded EMTA busing program to monitor and provide input for the betterment of the program.
G.U.T.S. Committee
This committee shall be responsible for providing and encouraging different forms of school spirit. This committee is also responsible for increasing the attendance at different sporting events throughout the year.
Public Relations Committee
This committee shall provide an open line of communication between the student body and SGA and effectively communicate SGA accomplishments to the student body.
Recruitment and Retention Committee
This committee shall coordinate all of SGA's efforts in the areas of recruiting new and keeping current membership.
Senior Awards Committee
This committee shall be responsible for the distribution and evaluation of nomination forms for Senior Awards. The committee shall also select recipients and present awards at the Senior Awards banquet.
SGA and APB Crossover Committee
This committee shall nurture cooperation between SGA and APB in order to effectively assist one another in programs, lectures, activities, and events on campus as well as to provide an arena for open discussion, debate, and compromise when situations arise in the event that the two organizations hold differing opinions.
Security Committee
This committee shall serve as a liaison between the student body and the Gannon University Campus Police and Safety. The Security Committee will keep the student body informed about security issues directly affecting them, as well as work to ascertain the efficacy of current safety practices.
Leadership Development Program
The LDP committee shall strive to foster and grow leadership through hosting programs and conferences open to students. This will be headed by the VP of CO.
