Q: What is SGA?
A: SGA stands for Student Government Association. The SGA is the organization that acts as the voice of the student body to faculty, staff and administrators here at Gannon.
Q: As a student of Gannon, what can the SGA do for me?
A:The SGA is responsible for the funding of all recognized clubs and organizations on Gannon's campus, to attend conferences, retreats and for other basic operating costs. If you feel
strongly about something on campus, bring it before the SGA at one of our regular meetings.
Q: How can I become a part of the SGA here at Gannon?
A: Elections are held in the Spring semester of each year. Seven representatives from each class will be elected during this time. Simply pick up a signature packet from the front desk in Waldron Campus Center when they become available.
To be put on the ballot, you must first collect 75 signatures from your classmates.
Q: Why should I become part of Student Government here at Gannon?
A: The answer is a simple one. 1) The SGA spends money for students, to make your voice and opinions heard and 2) Being a part of Student Government builds leadership and you will have the opportunity to meet many other student leaders like yourself.
Q: Can I be a part of the SGA even if I am not a member?
A: Yes, all students are welcomed to be a part of the SGA. Even though you may not be a voting member during the meetings, you can have a very active role with the different committees that are formed.
