A motion to approve the min= utes from the May 4th meeting was made by C. Duda and seconded by M. Gallivan. A friendly amendmen= t was made by M. Jordano to change “Purchased a high-end server that will do tracking” to “Purchased a high-end server.” The motion passed with seventeen in favor, none opposed, and= no abstentions.

M. Jordano welcomed the new= members and informed the committee that minutes and supporting documents are posted= on the website. The locations of= the meetings as well as the dates for the entire academic year are listed at the bottom of the agenda. Only two student representatives are currently serving on the committee; B. Bell will work on finding a third representative from the Student Government Associat= ion.
M. Jordano stated that the = $57,000 for FY 07 was allocated last year. $43,000 was committed to Angel; T. Brieger is leading the conversion= and implementation process. It is expected that Angel will be ready for fall 2007. $3,200 was committed to Turn-It In (plagiarism software) and $10,800 was committed to digital daises.

The process of submitting a= nd ranking unit plans was presented by V. Bacik. The process is similar to last yea= r with two minor changes. The timefr= ame is slightly compressed due to earlier submission requirements from the Vice-Presidents. Additionally, while the plans will be submitted to the Vice-Presidents for consideration,= the formal presentation of the plans at a joint meeting of the Finance & Administration Leadership Team and Provost Council will be done only if necessary. M. McCracken made a motion to approve the process as presented.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> J. Crandall seconded. The motion passed with seventeen in favor, no opposed and no abstentions.
MYGANNON ASSI=
STANT
J. Crandall presented the l= atest version of MyGannon Assistant. While the approval process is the same, this version has several enhancements. The steps for p= osting are streamlined so individual posters can post directly. The postings include a headline, a= re instantaneous, and can be modified. Formatting, such as bolding, underlining, font, and italics, can be = used. The messages are readable in the p= op-up window but will also continue to be accessible via the portal. Once an announcement is read, it w= ill not appear again in the pop-up.
Discussion about the enhanc= ements was positive and a few suggestions/concerns were raised. There was concern that direct acce= ss to announcements from the pop-up would discourage individuals from logging into the portal. Ideas from the co= mmittee included being able to read all the messages at once, showing only new mess= ages as opposed to all active messages, and having the informational channel as = well as the announcements visible in the pop-up.
With regards to implementat= ion, MyGannon Assistant will be installed via landesk.
T. Downs made a motion that= ITS work on having all posted messages viewable in MyGannon Assistant and that = the roll-out of My Gannon Assistant proceed.&n= bsp; W. McCracken seconded. The motion was approved with seventeen in favor, zero opposed, and no abstentio= ns.
It was noted the “The= Right Place for You” should be removed.
The next Community Meeting = and Provost Council were mentioned as two ways to spread the word about the enhanced version of MyGannon Assistant.
STATUS UPDATE=
M. Jordano distributed a ha= ndout with updates on ITS projects. Over the summer network equipment and the phone switch were updated and spam protect= ion was enhanced. It was noted th= at some users are receiving duplicate spam messages. M. Jordano indicated the duplicate= issue was previously resolved but he will follow-up. This fall, wireless network access= will be available in all buildings. Relative to administrative computing, the Datatel R18 project is tra= ck with a go live date in the spring and enhancements were made to electronic purchase orders, GUXPress, and MyGannon Assistant. Additionally, biometric time entry= is being piloted and a “Do it Yourself” webpage creation tool was created for student clubs and organizations. On the academic front, eight new d= igital daises were installed and eight daises were upgraded. An evaluation of suppliers for PCs, laptops and tablets is currently underway.= It was also noted that 4 week grades could now be submitted on line = and the expectation is that all grades will be submitted on line. Updates relative to students inclu= ded self-registration of student PCs on the network, calling cards as a replacement for long dist= ance services which was not highly utilized, and improved spam protection.
One concerned was raised re= garding the confidentiality of information when using a wireless connection. ITS may investigate encryption.
