It is no secret that spam has become a big problem over the past few years both in number and vulgarity of content.

Gannon has implemented the Sophos Email Security Appliance that will eliminate the vast majority of unwanted emails before they reach your inbox.

All incoming email that is apparently spam will be placed in your quarantine.

Each day at noon you will receive an email listing all emails placed in your quarantine since noon the previous day. This summary will show you the time, sender and subject of the email along with an ID number.

There are instructions on the top of the email explaining what to do with any email that you want delivered to your inbox.

If you do not want any emails that were quarantined you Do Not Need to Take Any Action, they will automatically be deleted from your quarantine in 30 days.

Along with the email summary there is a webpage that you can login to if you need to further manage your quarantine.

Go to http://my.gannon.edu  and under Spam Email Quarantine:  click on the "View Quarantine" button.

Within this website you can see all quarantined emails, release any valid emails from your quarantined to your inbox, delete quarantined emails, and block or allow senders based on their email address.

Most users will not need to log into this website as about 95% of spam emails are quarantined and very rarely is a valid email quarantined as spam.
