    You Will Learn

    Gannon University's Public Service & Global Affairs (PSGA) program is an innovative major for those who dream of changing the world. If you love travel, current events, politics, languages, and literature, this is your major. The PSGA major combines history, political government, and foreign languages with experiential education that prepares graduates for impactful careers.         

    This major will prepare you for careers that are also highly marketable. From non-profit fundraising, international development, and policy analysis to think tanks, the State Department, and non-governmental organizations, there are many highly interesting and lucrative positions available. The Public Service & Global Affairs major equips you with the skills, experience, and contacts for these careers.

    You Will Experience

    Students majoring in Public Service & Global Affairs will articulate and implement, with the assistance of an adviser, an individualized educational plan including personal programs of coursework, study abroad experiences and internships. Upon completion of this degree, students will acquire an understanding of a broad range of international topics while developing a proficiency in a chosen foreign language. 

    You will take classes that pertain to your particular career goals, study abroad in locales that connect to your career aspirations, and intern with organizations that directly relate to your future job.  Internship opportunities may be domestic or abroad in governmental agencies, not-for-profits, or non-governmental orgaizations.  

    You Will Achieve

    Students graduating with a bachelor's degree in Public Service & Global Affairs have a thorough foundation in the history, culture, language, and government of major world regions. In addition, they will learn about rich, diverse career opportunities available in public service and the capabilities and limitations of public service in shaping the domestic sphere and global affairs.

    Upon graduation, students will possess professional contacts, real world skills, worldliness, and the confidence needed for their post-graduate lives and careers. Such opportunities include, but are not limited to, the following:
