The Carneval Athletic Pavilion (CAP) is designed to meet the needs of the University's general recreation, intramural, wellness and intercollegiate programs. Drop-in and free-play activities are available daily in every area, from the basketball court to the swimming pool. Informal programs and varied activities are offered throughout the school year.
Students, faculty, and staff can take part in friendly intramural sports year round. Programs for men, women, and co-ed competition are organized on an individual basis with an opportunity to participate in numerous activities. These programs, coupled with Gannon University's concern for the well-rounded physical development of each student, compliment the student's intellectual, moral, and spiritual development.
The CAP will be closed during all University Holidays.
All areas close 15 minutes prior to building closing time. Evening hours on the weekends will be reserved for special events coordinated with Student Living, Student Activities, the Alumni Office, and other university groups. When school is on break, the CAP will be open on a limited basis. The hours will be announced prior to the break period.
While school is in session, September through May , the CAP will be open:
All faculty, staff, students, dependents over 5 years of age, and alumni must scan their Gannon I.D. cards through the system located at the front desk. Faculty/staff dependents may enter the Carneval Athletic Pavilion facility at no charge with a valid photo I.D. card. Dependents may obtain a card from the Campus Police and Safety Office for $5.00. Absolutely no equipment will be issued without a valid I.D. card.
All full-time and part-time Gannon students who are currently enrolled and in possession of a valid Gannon University I.D. card are authorized to utilize the facility and participate in the general and intramural recreation programs.
Upon presentation of a valid faculty/employee I.D. card, all full-time University employees are entitled to the same privileges as described above for students. Adjunct faculty may use the CAP only during the semester that they are under contract to teach.

Dependents of full-time faculty/staff over the age of 18 who are not claimed on the faculty/staff member’s income tax return may purchase a membership at the current Alumni rate.
Alumni may purchase a membership to the CAP and will enjoy full privileges upon the presentation of a valid membership card. A photo I.D. card may be obtained at the CAP or from the Office of Campus Police and Safety. A $5.00 fee will be charged for each card.
