Gannon University offers cooperative programs with the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine and the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. These accelerated programs lead to a Bachelor of Science (in Health Sciences or other degree programs for which requirements have been met) awarded by Gannon University and the degree of Doctor in Podiatric Medicine, awarded by the Pennsylvania or Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Upon completing the first year of podiatric training, Gannon University will accept up to 32 semester hour credits in basic science courses from the Pennsylvania or Ohio College of Podiatraic Medicine.

 

Admission Requirements for
Incoming Gannon Students

  • Completion of four years of science courses at the high school level. Three of these science courses must be Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • No grade lower than a “C” in high school science courses
  • Completion of four years of math courses at the high school level with no grade lower than a “C”
  • Minimum SAT score of 1050 (out of Math and Critical Reading), or ACT score of 23 or higher
  • Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Class rank in the top 25 percent

Continuation Requirements

Following three years of pre-podiatry studies at Gannon, up to four students from the accelerated program will be admitted to the Pennsylvania or Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine if they complete the following requirements:
  • Satisfactory completion of required courses of study at Gannon University
  • Nomination by a selection committee at Gannon University which will include members of the faculty of the University and a representative of the Podiatric profession in Erie
  • Selection by the Admission Committee at the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine or the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine
