
This is a cooperative program between Gannon University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). Under the agreement for this dual degree program, PCOM agrees to admit 10 or more students to its Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program provided the students have successfully completed their undergraduate prerequisites for medical school at Gannon University and fulfilled the admission requirements for PCOM. This undergraduate professional program of education leads to a baccalaureate degree in Health Science awarded by Gannon University upon the successful completion of one year at PCOM with a grade of “C” or above in each course. PCOM will award the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine to students completing all of PCOM’s requirements.
Admission Requirements For
Incoming Gannon Students
- SAT total of 1150 (out of 1600 Math and Critical Reading) or higher, or ACT total of 25 or higher
- GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Class rank in the top 25 percent
- Four years of high school mathematics and four years of high school science
Continuation Requirements at PCOM
- Candidates will be considered for admission during their junior year at Gannon provided they have completed the necessary course requirements (99 undergraduate credit hours)
- Candidates must have earned a minimum 3.2 GPA overall and in all science classes at Gannon University
- Submission of MCAT scores; must have minimum of seven (7) in any subset with an overall score of 21 or higher
- Completion of AACOMAS primary application and PCOM secondary application
- Successful interview with PCOM representatives
- Gannon University also has a traditional 4+4 partnership with PCOM. Students interested in this option will apply after their junior year at Gannon and must fulfill the following: complete the course requirements listed by PCOM, earn an overall GPA of 3.0 through their junior year, earn a minimum score of seven (7) in each category on the MCAT, and successfully interview with PCOM representatives.
