Catholic Mission

The Office of Public Affairs and Communications is here to assist you in publicizing newsworthy events, findings, and accomplishments in your classroom and professionally. This webpage will clarify the steps necessary to ensure that your message is being communicated in an accurate and timely manner.

  1. Please organize the dates, times, locations, and all other relevant details about your event or accomplishment.
  2. Please call 871-7471 or email Nick Pronko with the details of what you would like to promote.

Our office may post your information internally on my.gannon.edu, externally as a news release, or both depending on the subject matter and intended audience. Please keep in mind:

  • Event-related information should be provided to the Communications office at least two weeks prior to the event to allow sufficient time for distribution.
  • News releases are typically sent to the Erie Times News and the Gannon Knight. However, depending on the subject matter, they may also be provided to the local electronic media as well as regional and national media outlets.

In order to ensure our continued positive relationship with the media, the Office of Public Affairs and Communications should be the first point of contact. Reporters are aware they should contact our office first and realize they will be quickly referred to the proper source for information with respect to their deadlines.

If the media contacts you requesting a comment or interview, please contact the Office of Public Affairs and Communications as soon as possible at 871-5816. We will handle the inquiry, and if necessary, schedule a time for the reporter to interview you or another person. We will provide you with as much information as possible, including the general nature of the story and questions you might expect.

  • See Communication/Media Policy for more information.
